Your World
If you want to accomplish your goals, you have to understand how the world works.
You can understand it through the lens of science, or the inspiration of faith — two different ways of comprehending the same extraordinary reality.

The Scientific View
Most people have a Newtonian view of the world, named after Sir Isaac Newton. He thought the world was made of discreet physical objects with empty space in between. But Newton was wrong. To understand the world, you have to look to Albert Einstein, Neils Bohr, John Stuart Bell, and many other great scientists, who proved:
  • Absolutely everything in existence (your body, flowers, air, sunlight, our planet) is made of energy – even human thought consists of subtle energy.
  • Anything made of energy generates an electromagnetic energy field – so there is a unique energy field associated with every person, place and thing, and these fields overlap with and influence one another.
  • There is a single quantum (subatomic) energy field that exists behind the near infinite number of individual electromagnetic energy fields that make up the entire universe.
  • Within the universal quantum field, each thing in the universe is instantaneously connected to and reacting with everything else, with no time lost at all (what the physicists call superluminal).
  • Physicists call this phenomenon “The Unified Field” – a field of quantum energy that behaves as if it were governed by one organized thought – which drives most of the known forces that determine why things work the way they do.
  • Studies in physics, biophysics and subtle energy medicine have proven that human thought affects the energy fields associated with your body, your loved ones, circumstances and places (even over great distances, owing to the existence of the universal field).
  • You can use different ways of thinking to influence your health, what’s going on in the world around you, and future events half a world away.
The Religious View
The great enlightened Masters (from Jesus to The Bal Shem Tov, Lao Tzu to Krishna, The Buddha to Kabir and Guru Nanak) all taught the same basic truth:
  • The universe is a manifestation of the mind of God, Jehovah, Adonai, Allah, Brahman, Sat, Nirvana, Tao, Spirit – by any name – pure cosmic consciousness, the essence of awareness itself, the source of every virtue, infinite, perfect, all-knowing, all-wise and all-loving.
  • As God “thinks” the universe, and all that is in it, comes into being and is sustained by God’s own Divine consciousness (intelligence) which is omnipresent within creation.
  • Human beings are made in the image of God – each endowed with an immortal soul which is of the same substance as the consciousness of God and united with it, in much the same way that a wave is one with the ocean it rides upon, and shares its essence.
  • Through the direct experience of our own Divine nature, of the self as soul, we gain the power to heal and transform ourselves and redeem our world based on how we think, pray and act.
  • It has been said that all creation waits with eager longing for the sons and daughters of God (us) to realize our Divine nature, and bring heaven on earth.

The Intersection Between Science and Faith
Both perspectives — that of the scientist and that of the faithful — have great merit. Both have something to offer regarding the search for ultimate meaning, and each needs the point of view of the other.

Religious people rightly assert there is a cosmic purpose playing out in creation – a plan for humankind that is rooted in Divine love – and they are hungry to find it. However, they often pay more attention to dogma or “chapter and verse” than to direct experience. That’s where science comes in. Science is very good at establishing “fact” as it arises out of direct experience.

The inspiration provided by faith, coupled with the objective realism of science, provides an efficient means for exploring the greatest remaining frontier of human understanding — the mind.
